Thinking of buying this dude. He’s an appy but his only markings are knees and ears (“few spots” Appy i guess?). He’s pretty green still but he is walk, trot, canter. 5 years old. Good on trails. He’s very quiet and sound. He spooks if something jumps out and startles him, but it’s a tiny sidestep and nothing more. He’s very inquisitive and prefers to check things out rather than freak out at them. Goes barefoot (HUGE plus for me). He can be a little pokey but as long as you get at him (meaning clucking and kissing, not beating lol) he’ll pick up. I actually really enjoy the fact that he’s “two speeds”. He has this really nice little trot and this slow canter that’s almost a lope but when he picks up he has such nice, big and smooth gaits… Really pretty mover.
Anyhow. This is a terrible picture and I’ll try to get a better one Sunday. I’m going to lease him first as long as no one else has showed interest. I’m so passive with my horses it’s ridiculous. I just don’t like to jump into it. I was working with him before freckles though and have seen him come a long way quickly. I think we’d be a good match long term so we will see what happens!
